Mailroom equipment supplier Addressing & Mailing Solutions (AMS) has launched a new postal mail preparation machine.
The AMS envelope wrapping system, which was launched last week and is commercially available, consists of a high-speed two-sided color printer, a folder and an inserter. a single unit.
The company said the online system can create new style envelopes, print, insert and seal in one flow, dramatically reducing production time when creating postal mail.
The machine flow allows the envelope form to be printed and addressed, before being folded. The insert is attached and then sealed to create a single mailing.
An increasing number of the company’s customers are concerned about the confidentiality and integrity of the mail they send and this system meets their requirements, the company said, because the new style of envelope has an “innovative” opening. which guarantees the security of the shipments.
AMS Managing Director Kevin McPheat said, “The ability to manufacture envelopes as part of the mail insertion process makes the envelope wrapping system the next generation of mail finishing.
“We continue to look for ways to make postal preparation easier for our customers and enable them to produce personalized, eye-catching, unique, cost-effective and high-quality mail. The envelope packaging system ticks all the boxes.
The envelopes created can be C5 or DL size with A4 paper inserted. Up to 2,200 completed mail pieces per hour can be produced. Depending on the stock weight, up to six pages can be inserted and printed in color on both sides.
The envelope wrapping system costs around £ 60,000, although AMS said it expects most users to rent the device, which costs around £ 295 per week.
AMS supplies mailroom equipment and consumables to printers, mail houses and offices that send mail items. Its products range from envelope and label printers to folding and inserting machines, packaging systems and mail software.
