The U.S. Postal Service is hiring in Cleveland: How to Apply

The U.S. Postal Service is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, September 22, as it works to fill 100 Urban Carrier Assistant (CCA) positions. Officials say the starting wage is $ 18.51 per hour.

The workshop will be held in the USPS Cleveland Administration Building at 2200 Orange Ave. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Human resources specialists will be on hand to help applicants navigate the application portal.

“In this role, you deliver and collect mail on foot or by vehicle in an urban area,” according to USPS officials. “You also have good customer relationships and have general knowledge of laws, regulations and postal products in your area. As a CCA, you provide an essential service to your community by ensuring mail delivery on weekdays, weekends and holidays with career promotion opportunities. CCAs may be eligible for certain benefits, including paid time off and health insurance. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy staying active outside with occasional interactions with customer service.

The duties of the position are listed as follows:

  • Sort, lift and push moderate to heavy mail and parcel loads to prepare for delivery
  • Deliver mail along your assigned route
  • Pick up or retrieve mail from customers
  • Collect shipping costs for delivery costs or other services
  • Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions: rain, snow, cold and heat

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Applicants must also pass a drug test and a criminal background investigation.
